Hi Friend,
How was your weekend? I hope you got the chance to relax and enjoy some down time.
I don’t know about you, but Mondays always seem to be the busiest day of the week. I’d like to think that having 2 days off of work (Saturday & Sunday) would give me ample time to catch up and fully prepare for the week ahead. But that rarely happens.
On Mondays, there seems to be more emails in my inbox, more bills in my mailbox, more errands to run, more phone calls to return and more items on my to-do list. If I don’t intentionally set the right tone in my heart and mind, Monday’s will set the wrong pace for my entire week.
When the demands of Monday cause me to rush and hurry I can get caught up in the busyness and begin to feel anxious. Sometimes I’m not even aware of it. I’m so focused on “getting it all done” that I’m completely sidetracked from the stirring in my heart. But, here are those other times when I’ve pushed myself too much and I suddenly become aware.
Why do I feel anxious? I’m not worried about anything. What’s going on that is making me feel this way?
It doesn’t take long to realize I’ve created a pace that’s causing me to rush unnecessarily. That’s when I remind myself of God’s truth.
I’ve created this beautiful graphic for you as a reminder this week. Next time your busyness turns into anxiousness and you find yourself rushing around trying to beat time at it’s own game, I hope you’ll set your heart to these words.
I’m so grateful God holds every moment of our lives safely in His hands. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all time. Time isn’t limited to this life here on earth. It continues on in Heaven. So when you stop and think about those truths, it becomes clear. There is no reason for us to rush or feel hurried.
What is causing you to hurry and feel rushed today? I pray our time together has given you a fresh perspective that God holds every minute, so you can relax and enjoy the day.
Sweet Blessings,

I just discovered your website and I so appreciate the hope and inspiration you give! As a mom of 5 wonderfully rambunctious kids, Mondays are definitely rough. But thank you for your reminder of God’s promise, I will slow down and BREATHE…

Praise Jesus – HIS timing is spot on in sending this reminder to me through you today Leah. Thank You!! Feeling the pull of the world and the rush of our over flowing to do list sure can make us feel overwhelmed and wonder why we feel the way we do. Stressed with out Rest!!

I spent this past weekend in the ER and then hospital with my 21 year old daughter. She had gotten a stomach bug which quickly depleted her body and made her severely dehydrated. Neither of us had ANY sleep the night she got sick, and by the next night in the hospital, we had been up continuously for 40 hours. The Dr. released her yesterday, still weak, but better. This morning my mom, who lives in another state, called me early and told me she had taken herself to the ER last night with what likely turned out to be a series of severe anxiety attacks. Lately, God has really drawn her to Himself and her faith has never been stronger. She has been making stands for Him and against the enemy of her soul, and has also been my “go-to” when we need prayer coverage – like we did this past weekend. Needless to say, the attacks were really no surprise. She is still praising her God. And also – needless to say – your words and graphic today were once again timely.

Dawn, I hope that your daughter and mother are doing much better now. I’m praying for both of them today.
