What Do You Want for Christmas?

What Do You Want for Christmas?

The Christmas season is finally here!

I’ve been seeing Christmas decorations in the stores since early October but now it’s time to pull out the tree lights, red ribbon, and front door wreath.

Have you started decorating yet? If not, don’t dare let the tiniest bit of guilt settle within you. Heck, I’ve still got my fall decorations stacked up in a big pile, waiting to be boxed and put away.

I keep saying to myself, “Oh, I’ll get to that tomorrow.” But, tomorrow comes and goes yet the decorations still sit. At least I’ve got Christmas music playing which makes me want to bake cookies and drink hot chocolate with marshmallows.

So let me ask you something. What do you want for Christmas?

Are you hoping for something special? Maybe a small or BIG package tucked under the Christmas tree with your name on it? Maybe the gift of seeing loved-ones who live far away? Maybe a house full of healthiness because last Christmas everyone in your family came down with the flu?

Here is what I want for Christmas:

Peace | Hope | Love |  Joy

Yep, that’s all I want for Christmas this year.

John 16:13a says, “I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace.”

Romans: 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

John 4:19 says, “We have love because He first loved us.”

Luke 1:14 says, “You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice because of His birth.”

Sounds like a lot to ask for this Christmas season? Wouldn’t you like to have a little more peace, hope, love, and joy in your life today?  There is only one way to obtain these amazing gifts and that is through the greatest gift of all.

Jesus Christ ~ Savior & Redeemer

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Do you know Jesus?

    God bless,

  2. Dear Leah
I hope you won’t mind if we use your picture above for our Facebook page at our church as it reflects the sermon series we will have this Christmas
