It’s my way of saying “thanks” for your valuable feedback. As I’ve been praying and already planning for 2014, I’ve tried to figure out what kind of blog content I should offer next year.
This morning it dawned on me to just ask you! After all, the only reason I write this blog is for YOU. Without you in mind, I’d be perfectly content on writing in my own personal journal.
But, the purpose for my blog this year has been to bring some fresh insights to my readers and to help them understand, equip and apply God’s life changing Word to their already busy lives.
I’m not saying I’ve done a great job but I’ve certainly tried each week to write helpful content that encourages you along your personal journey with the LORD. But now it’s time to ask the question…
What really matters to you?
If you’ll just take a few minutes to read and respond to the following questions by posting your comments below, I would really, really appreciate it. And, your name will go into the drawing for Lysa’s book. Did I mention it was a SIGNED copy?
Okay, here goes…
1. When reading a blog post are you looking for content that is: (a) devotional style (b) practical advice & tips (c )Bible study style such as unpacking a scripture verse(s) to better understand the meaning?
2. What day of the week are you most likely to read a blog post?
3. What would prompt you to leave comments in response to a blog post you’ve just read?
4. If I offered a 4 or 6 week online Bible study through my blog, would you sign up to do it with me?
5. What is something I’m not offering or providing on my blog right now? Or, what do you think would make my blog better.
Your response to these 5 questions can be super simple and look something like this example below. Or, feel free to offer any suggestions, even if its different than the questions I’ve asked above. I so value your feedback and it will only make my blog content better for 2014!
EXAMPLE:
Leah DiPascal
1. Bible style style/unpacking scripture
2. Thursdays
3. When you offer a question at the bottom of your post
4. Yes, I’d love to do an online Bible study with you!
5. A free trip to Hawaii giveaway
Thank you for this valuable feedback – it means so much to me. I can’t wait to read your responses and find out what really matters to you!!
If you’re stopping by for the first time and would like to receive my weekly updates, just fill in the Subscribe For Updates box in the top right hand corner and I’ll take care of the rest.
I’m really looking forward to hearing from you!

Leah,
I think I like all the options you listed, but what I appreciate most about a blog post is when it’s written from the heart. I love writers who connect with me rather than talk at me!! You do that my friend!!
I’m subscribed to your blog so I save it in my email until life always me to look at it!!
I’d love to comment more than I do, but often it’s easier to read and quicker too, but your questions seem to prompt me and God does too. I typically comment when it’s something that really speaks to me, challenges me or is something I can relate to.
As far as Bible studies, I’ve done a few of Wendy’s on-line ones and appreciate the flexibility. A community really does develop in the comments, which is neat. So if I’m not doing a different study when you offer one, I’d love to sit under your teaching!!
As far as making it better…I really don’t know! Keep seeking God He’ll show you if you need to make any changes!!
Blessings!

1. I most prefer (b) practical advice & tips and sometimes combine that with (c) Bible study style such as unpacking a scripture verse(s) to better understand the meaning. I would say (b) 50% of the time & (b)+(C) 50% of the time.
2. Thursday and/or Monday.
3. (a) If it really touched or resonated with me; (b) of course if a giveaway is involved; and (c) if it is to help someone out (i.e. survey, answer questions, solve a problem, etc.)
4. Yes.
5. I’m new to your blog so I can’t really give a good response. Looking around, I am impressed with what I have seen so far.
leah says
Hi Lacinda, thank you for taking the time to leave your great comments and welcome to my blog. I hope you come back to visit real soon! Blessings, Leah

5. I’m new! Got here from a tweet. 🙂
leah says
Hi Wendy ~ I’m so glad you stopped by and I really appreciate your comments. I’ve done group studies and independent studies. Both options work for me – depending up what season of life I”m in. You must be very disciplined if you can study independently. Way to go!

leah says
Grace, I love your idea of having other women share there stories of how God displayed His grace in their lives. I agree that we all experience difficult seasons and it’s wonderful when we can encourage one another. Thank you for your comments and I’d love to hear your story. Leah
Dana @momsieblog says
Okely dokely:
1. Mainly C
2. Mon-Fri
3. This is going to sound weird but mainly if God wants to bring something to my attention, it will be through a post that just sorta “hits the nail on the head” – so mainly I guess I would say, go ahead w/ what you are doing b/c God will arrange it so that it hits me when needed! Also, I do really love real, natural, just from the heart stuff, which is your thing. 🙂
4. i think an online bible study would be great but i am already doing two right now… depends on timing.
5. nuthin. your blog is lovely!

leah says
Maria, thank you for stopping by and leaving your comments on my blog today. I love those ah-ha moments too – especially when God shows me a fresh new insight from a very familiar passage that I’ve known for years. There is just nothing like it. Thanks so much for your comments and I hope you stop by again real soon. Leah
Joy says
Ooops…I got a little carried away. Told you I don’t do anything “halfway”. Sorry!
Joy says
I’d love to answer your questions!
1. It would be a combination of A and C.
2. More likely to read it Monday to Friday, immediately when I see the link appear.
3. I am prompted to leave a comment for a few reasons. First reason is when God prompts my heart. I might feel the writer needs encouragement. I might resonate with a truth shared. There might be a “sticky statement” that I have to respond to and say…WOW…that was great!!!
4. As much as I would LOVE to do an on-line Bible study with you, I need TONS of advance notice. I’m currently involved in 4 Bible studies here – facilitating 2 – and to add anything else in isn’t likely, unless I can plan for it far enough in advance and lessen commitments here. The 2 years I read through the Bible with Wendy Pope and wrote daily on my blog in response and accountability, that was my commitment at that time, but I knew well enough in advance so that I could make the time. I never believe in doing anything “halfway”…it’s all or nothing. (Probably a longer answer than you wanted….ooops!)
5. I love your blog Leah. What I look for is honesty and authenticity. You give both. A friend said this to me yesterday: Sometimes we don’t need to hear from experts…we need to hear from the experienced. Sharing how God is walking personally with you encourages me to keep holding His Hand. It lets with rejoice with you, pray for you, and know I’m not alone when facing similar circumstances. The writer truly becomes my friend.
Blessings to you my dear friend. I think the only thing you could do better is give me more hours in my day so that I could read more blog posts!!! Honestly, I’d love a full-time job of just reading posts and writing encouraging comments. There are so many great blogs out there and so little time. Being a blog writer myself I know the time it takes to offer words that will hopefully impact even just one life. Know that your words are not in vain Leah. You are impacting others.
Love and prayers,
Joy
leah says

I know you are blessing many woman through your studies and your blog. Keep writing and sharing – there are a lot of hurting people in this world that would greatly benefit from your encouraging words. Much love, Leah
